After several months of carefully searching with the client, we selected this distinguished inner-city Machiya for renovation. The vision was to restore its timeless charm and authenticity, while seamlessly integrating contemporary standards of comfort, elegance, and convenience.
Great attention was devoted to the selection of materials and finishes, while discreetly integrating underfloor heating and climate control for modern comfort. A new bathroom wing was added to the existing structure, featuring full-height glazing that opens directly onto the classic Japanese garden, creating an atmosphere of refined retreat.
