Xindian Meteorological Station - New Taipei City, Taiwan
Atelier Boronski working with IMO Design and UZ Architects were awarded 1st Prize in the design competition for this government project.
It comprises 3100 sq m of Instrumentation and Calibration Laboratories, Forecasting Studios, an underground Wind-tunnel and a Weather-Balloon launch room, as well as Maintenance areas, Event Space and Staff Accommodation.
Three cylindrical volumes punctuate an undulating elevated surface to form a 3 dimensional metaphor of weather behaviour.
